Mehmet is an Istanbul-based designer and founder of Studio Birtane. With a background in Materials Science and Engineering, he later studied Design Products at the Royal College of Art in London. His practice is rooted in making, material experimentation and the direct relationship between model and object. In 2023, he founded Studio Birtane as a platform for developing lighting, objects and bespoke architectural elements through processes that preserve the traces of their own making.
